Visit to Yale University

On Saturday, June 19, 2010 a group of Macdonough scholars, families, and teachers visited the campus of Yale University in New Haven, CT. The students were eager to see the historic campus after learning this year about the wonderful opportunities that a college experience can offer a curious mind. The group organized a self-guided tour, visiting such attractions as the old campus where we saw the freshman dormitories, the Yale Art Gallery where we viewed ancient art from Asia, Europe, and Africa, the Women’s Table sculpture by Yale graduate Maya Lin where we honored the presence of women at Yale, and the Bienecke Rare Book Library where we saw one of only 21 Gutenberg Bibles in the world among other precious, beautiful books. Thank you to our students, families, and teachers for helping to make this magical trip possible. We look forward to making this wonderfully educational voyage again next year! Lux et Veritas.
