Parents were guided on a school tour by Mrs. Lenihan and Mrs. Spaman while the children were treated to stories by Principal Romeo. Parents also had the opportunity to make their appointments for Kindergarten Registration which is on Thursday, May 8th this year. If you have a child starting kindergarten in the fall, please call Kelli Swan in the office at 860-347-8763 to set up your appointment. It is such an exciting time for both parents and our incoming kindergarteners.

Fourth Grade Field Trip to East Asia!

Mr. Ferrero's class learned about East Asia on a recent field trip to Wesleyan University.  Through the Wesleyan Outreach Program, our students learned about the culture of this far away region of the world.

Students learned soranbushi, a Japanese dance that told a story about fishing.

Then they learned the ancient art of origami.

Finally they practiced calligraphy as they learned about and drew Chinese characters.

All students had a great time!  Learning is fun at Macdonough School!

Book Buddies!

Mrs. Walsh's first graders and Mrs. Ellis' fifth graders meet weekly to pair up and read with each other. Students have been doing a phenomenal job staying focused and reading with their book buddies during our time together. To reward students for their great behavior, all students received a special treat this week!
