As part of the ceremony, each Macdonough School student had the chance to sign the last beam to be hoisted on top of the new building.
Thanks to the CEO of the Community Health Center, there was som history and math added to the ceremony. Students learned about the Scandanavian tradition of placing a tree on the top of new buildings and also used their math skills to estimate the weight of the beam.
Students were promised an invitation back to the construction site for the laying of the building's cornerstone in the fall.
